I'm going independent in the middle of next month.
I'm not starting a company — for now I plan to go independent as a sole proprietor.
I'd thought for a while that I'd go independent in the near future, and that time has come sooner than expected.
It's only been about half a year since I joined my current workplace, but in about a month I'll finish handing over work and resign.
I'll write about how I got to resigning after I've sorted what I've been thinking, once things settle.
So now it's: what do I do from here?
Obviously, I still have to eat.
I've decided to go independent and resign — but I don't have a clear plan.
(On the other hand, even if I pushed the timing of going independent further out, I don't have confidence I'd build a clear post-independence plan. That part can't be helped.)
One trigger for going independent was an acquaintance's company, and I expect to get a little work from them — beyond that, nothing is decided yet.
I don't have much savings either, so it's a bit of "hmm, will this somehow work out?"
First time mentioning age on this blog: I'm 25. (Male, by the way.)
Emotionally I'm optimistic and fairly looking forward to it — and also thinking, yikes, will this really be okay?
That's all for today, briefly. I'll do my best.
