First paid job

Last time I reported I was going independent — and luckily I already got my first paid job and earned revenue.
In my working life, it's the first money I've earned myself outside a fixed salary.
I was happy from the bottom of my heart. Honestly, it's the best memory of my career so far.
I have to thank the people who gave me the chance from the bottom of my heart.

Riding highs and lows isn't good, but that night I was completely giddy.
I was so happy I told a few friends I'd already told about going independent that I'd gotten my first job.
From their side it must have been "what are you talking about," but I couldn't help wanting to share the feeling with someone. Of course everyone warmly congratulated me. Best mood ever.
I won't forget that moment.

By the way, when I recently told my mother I was going independent, she handed me a familiar-looking passbook.

It was the bankbook from the account where I'd saved New Year's gift money as a kid.
There were stick-on photo booth pictures of young Mom and little me too — nostalgic.
Old booth photos are grainy, and with time the colors have faded a lot.
Still, you can tell past me is smiling energetically.

As a kid, in our house New Year's money was almost never spent — the custom was to save it.
After that I'd forgotten about the passbook and figured it had helped the household — but no, it came back to me now.
It's basically New Year's savings, so not a big sum — but it's a gift from past me to the me who's going independent.
I don't know how to put it, but for now it felt good.

Busy days have been continuing for a while, so today's post got short again.
I was just so glad about the first paid job that I wanted to leave it on the blog.
I'll keep doing my best.
